- Check mulch beds, leaf litter, and damp soil near the foundation — that's where millipedes live and breed.
- Reduce moisture and clear leaf litter or mulch away from the foundation.
- Seal gaps around doors and the foundation to block entry, especially after heavy rain when they often wander indoors.
- Apply a residual perimeter treatment around the foundation.
- Indoors, sweep or vacuum up stragglers — they usually die quickly indoors since they can't survive without moisture.
Wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes with socks, chemical-resistant gloves, and goggles. Add a respirator if the label calls for it or ventilation is poor.
